A new day and a new tool to introduce to my students. We used Class Blogmeister today to write our first blogs. We are going to the circus next week, so i had my class write about their past visits to the circus and what they thought they would see. I was really pleased with how well it went.

Voice Thread

I attempted my first Voice Thread today with my students. We are beginning the book "Stone Fox". I had set up a voice Thread with several pictures dealing with the book. With each picture I have a comment for the kids to think about and then share their thoughts. The kids loved getting to wear the headset and enjoyed sharing their predictions about the story. I plan to have them add comments to a different picture each day. My first attempt with Voice Thread was a success. Maybe I'll be able to get some other teachers at school to use this great site.

Diving In

I have spent the morning designing flip charts to use with my students this week. I should be grading papers and writing my lessons plans, but since I left the tests and plan book at school I guess I have to do something else. I have had the time to experiment with different web sites that I had heard about, but hadn't had the time to use. I will see how it goes this week when I attempt to use my first Voice Thread with my students. I also hope to introduce them to blogging this week and have them post their first blogs.
